Questions
Can I use it again next year?
Yes. The year and countdown update themselves. Save a copy, clear the gifts and start again.
What’s the difference between planned and spent?
Ideas count towards your plan, but not what you’ve spent. Once a gift is Ordered, Bought, Wrapped or Given it counts as spent.
Can I change the groups?
Yes. Rename or add groups on the Settings tab and the drop-downs update.
Does it include things other than gifts?
Yes. There’s a tab for food, decorations, wrapping, cards, travel and events, each with its own budget.
Does it use macros?
No. It’s a normal .xlsx file, so there are no security warnings and nothing to enable.
Which versions of Excel does it work with?
Microsoft 365, Excel 2010 or later on Windows, and Excel for Mac. It’s built for Microsoft Excel.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and the file is yours to keep.
