Hi, I’m Lee
I run Sheet Leveller on YouTube, where I make quick, no-nonsense Excel tutorials.
This budget uses the DATE, SUMPRODUCT and INDEX formulas from my tutorials, so every paycheck plans itself.
Questions
What if I’m paid twice a month, like the 1st and 15th?
Choose Twice a month and set your first payday to the 1st. Paydays are the 1st and 15th of every month.
What if my paycheck changes?
Type the real amount for that payday on the Paychecks tab. Everything updates.
A paycheck is short. What do I do?
Move a bill’s due date (many companies let you), set a little aside from the paycheck before, or trim spending that period. The Plan tab shows the effect straight away.
Do I also need the Monthly Budget Planner?
No. This one plans ahead by paycheck. The Monthly Budget Planner tracks what you actually spent by category. Some people use both.
Does it use macros?
No. It’s a normal .xlsx file, so there are no security warnings and nothing to enable.
Which versions of Excel does it work with?
Microsoft 365, Excel 2010 or later on Windows, and Excel for Mac. It’s built for Microsoft Excel.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and the file is yours to keep.
No more surprise short paychecks.
Every payday planned, every bill on the right paycheck.
