A Monday-to-Friday week with a public holiday isn’t 5 days. Getting it wrong means awkward conversations later.

Weekends and holidays skipped
Days are worked out with Excel’s NETWORKDAYS, so weekends and the public holidays on your list don’t count. Half days count as 0.5, and the tracker shows how many others are off at the same time.

Each person gets an allowance and carry-over. Booked, pending and remaining days update from the log. You choose which leave types come off the allowance, so sick or training days don’t.

Questions
Does it work outside the US?
Yes. The public holidays list starts with the US federal holidays for 2027. Type over them with your own, like UK bank holidays.
Can I use it for a different leave year?
Yes. Set when your leave year starts on the Settings tab, like 1 April.
How do half days work?
For a single half day, set Half day? to Yes and it counts as 0.5.
Can I track just my own leave?
Yes. Add yourself as the only person, or try the free Vacation Days Tracker.
Does it use macros?
No. It’s a normal .xlsx file, so there are no security warnings and nothing to enable.
Which versions of Excel does it work with?
Microsoft 365, Excel 2010 or later on Windows, and Excel for Mac. It’s built for Microsoft Excel.
Is this a subscription?
